Hong Kong Forum organises delegation of international business executives to attend Eco Expo Asia

Market leaders and decision-makers from all over the world will be convening at the third annual Eco Expo Asia – Hong Kong’s professional trade fair for environmental protection products and services. Running from 28 – 31 October 2008 at AsiaWorld-Expo, this event is not only receiving strong support from the environmental industry, it is also welcoming a delegation of top international business executives, as part of a visit organised by the Hong Kong Forum.

The Hong Kong Forum, a business platform for thousands of overseas and local traders, buyers and professionals to exchange experience and knowledge, has arranged a visit to Eco Expo Asia on 29 October 2008. The annual event is organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide and consists of associations in 23 countries with well over 11,000 members. As delegates attending the forum are keen to share business ideas, opportunities and solutions in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, Eco Expo Asia positions itself as an ideal platform for the business sector to actively explore opportunities in the environmental market and build stronger eco relations within the region.

Return exhibitors confirm participation at this year’s Eco Expo Asia

After two successful events, Eco Expo Asia continues to receive strong support from international and local brands. Power Tech IPC, the first-time exhibitor of Eco Expo, is a Hong Kong supplier that focuses on providing solutions for improving energy efficiency. Many businesses in the government and private sectors use Power Tech’s hydropath technology. The equipment provides energy-saving water treatments for various water-related facilities. Mr Kalson Leung, Technical Director of Power Tech said, “As the energy cost and the sense of environmental protection are increasing, together with the mandatory implementation of Building Energy Code, the environmental protection industry will grow more prosperous.”

Artenano Company Limited first entered the Hong Kong environmental market in 2006. “Our air filters are novel to the market. We had the opportunity to introduce our nanotechnologies at the debut expo as well as meet with traders during the visitor tour and business matching activities,” said Ms Alice Ho, Research & Development Manager of Artenano Company Limited. She also noted the growing environmental protection and public health concern in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland and praised the initiative of Government sectors, leading enterprises and small enterprises seeking and developing new and cost effective environmental technologies to comply with environmental polices.

Returning exhibitor, Fukutomi Company Ltd, of Hong Kong regards Eco Expo Asia as the only professional trade show to promote their environmentally-friendly products and services in Hong Kong and thus has expanded their booth size this year. Ms Angely Webb, Human Resources and Administration Manager of Fukutomi says, “Eco Expo Asia is a good channel for educators to obtain useful information about recycling, green goods and environmental trends in Hong Kong & other countries. Apart from promoting our own business, it also gives us a chance to educate the public to fulfill their responsibility as citizens. We are optimistic about the development of the environmental protection industry in Hong Kong and Asia.”

Yes-Sun Environmental Biotech Co., Ltd specialises in converting organic wastes into fertilizers or feed supplement. As more and more waste is being generated from industry, agriculture and household, Ms Chiu Shu Ching, Manager of Yes-Sun believes that the importance of proper waste management is crucial today. Many countries are adopting advanced technology in processing wastes, as old incineration techniques are expensive, consume large amount of energy and create pollution. “Yes-Sun’s ‘Composting-free Technology’ has been well received by various Asia Pacific countries, especially in Korea, Singapore and Japan. We want to bring this technology into Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, as we believe that an efficient and effective waste management system is essential. I think that Eco Expo Asia will be our gateway into the green market in Hong Kong and I am sure we will be able to meet quality buyers in this show.”

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Eco Expo Asia will be held from 28 – 31 October 2008, with 31 October opened to public. For more information, please visit www.ecoexpoasia.com or email ecoexpo@hongkong.messefrankfurt.com or exhibitions@tdc.org.hk
