The second edition of Eco Expo Asia opens next week at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong

The only trade fair for environmental protection in Hong Kong, Eco Expo Asia will open next week, 27 October 2007 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The fair will run until 30 October and will be open to the public on the final day. Organised jointly by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt, the second edition of Eco Expo Asia returns at a time when environmental issues are becoming increasingly relevant in Asia Pacific.

Over 135 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions will be taking part in Eco Expo Asia, including those from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Poland, Taiwan, the USA and Vietnam. Being the only event of its kind in Hong Kong, Eco Expo Asia is perfect for those who are looking to sell or source products that tackle environmental issues and for industry professionals to exchange information with fellow key players.

Eco Asia Conference returns with a wide range of experts and academics from the environmental protection industry

Taking place in tandem with Eco Expo Asia, the highly regarded Eco Asia Conference returns on 27, 29 & 30 October 2007. The conference provides an invaluable opportunity for industry professionals to exchange knowledge and the latest technology concerning environmental protection. It consists of a three-day conference for environmental industry players covering a variety of environmentally themed topics of concern in Asia today including water & air, waste management & recycling and alternative energy & energy efficiency. Experts will focus on issues affecting the global community while exploring possible solutions to problems that will encourage open discussions during the conference.

Environmental issues to be presented at this year's conference by industry professionals include:

  • Achieving better Indoor Air-Quality Hotels
  • The Eco-Park in Tuen Mun Area 38
  • Emission Reduction Measures for Power Generation in Hong Kong
  • An United Front for a Better Enviornment Crossing-Boundary Co-operation between Hong Kong and Guangdong
  • Viable Solution to Reduce Food Waste and Convert it into Eco-Fertilizer
  • Environmental Legislation and Control

Along with a wide range of speakers to be featured at this year's conference, experts include Mr. K.S. Tso, Mr. Alexi Bhanji and Dr. C.W.Tso as detailed below.

Indoor Air-Quality Session

Mr. K.S. Tso, founding President of the Hong Kong Indoor Air-Quality (IAQ) Society, and lecturer for IAQ in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and the US will be discussing "Achieving better Indoor Air-Quality Hotels", one of the most pressing topics in the environmental protection industry today. The IAQ session will allow suppliers to express their views and exchange ideas as well as glean valuable information with experts and academics in this field.

Waste Management & Recycling Session

Adding further impact to the conference, Chairman of Hong Kong Waste Management Association, Mr. Alexi Bhanja with over 17 years of experience in the fields of waste management, environmental management, environmental monitoring and audit, and sustainable development will discuss the importance of an "The EcoPark in Tuen Mun Area 38". This session will examine how key industry players can be instrumental in contributing positively to the environment through waste management and recycling.

Energy Session

Another session not to be missed will be conducted by Dr. C.W. Tso, General Manager (Projects) for The Hong Kong Electric Company Limited (HEC) who will demonstrate the company's commitment to a sustainable environment in his topic "Emission Reduction Measures for Power Generation in Hong Kong". During his seminar Dr. Tso will also look into the emission control measures that have already been put into place by the HEC and those that are currently being put into practice.
