Come and be a part of the green action today!

imageEco Expo Asia has enjoyed great support and success ever since its launch in 2006. This fair delivers a selection of the latest environmental products and technologies from around the world. It is a forum where environmental professionals from the commercial, governmental and non-governmental organisations meet, exchange information on the latest technologies and make quality new contacts for business.

Last year over 5,000 visitors from 89 countries came to Eco Expo Asia to meet with 135 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions. With so many professionals and industry players coming in to be a part of Eco Expo Asia, it truly makes this a diverse and international green expo! Mark your calendar for 28-31 October 2008!

What you will see at Eco Expo Asia
In 2008, visitors will be able to see eco products from four main eco-areas (air quality, eco-friendly products, energy efficiency and waste & recycling) that are receiving the most attention in Hong Kong, South China and Southeast Asia today. Eco Expo Asia 2008 will focus on these four highlights, and be a ‘green’ hub for all that is new in environmental protection.

  • Air Quality - air pollution & gas emission control; air purification, filtration and deodorisation technology and equipment; desulphurisation and dust control technology and equipment; and gas, smoke & chemical monitoring and treatment equipment
  • Eco-friendly Product - biodegradable and eco-friendly raw materials; biodegradable and recycled products and packaging; eco-friendly materials for construction and fitting; and green decorative materials
  • Energy Efficiency - energy efficient applications in architecture; energy efficient vehicles; and energy saving devices and products
  • Waste & Recycling - biological treatment equipment; oil recycling technology and equipment; solid waste treatment, incineration and recycling systems; transport, collection and sorting of waste; and waste water recycling technology and equipment

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) has been one of the major topics in environmental protection. Last year, Eco Expo Asia set up an IAQ zone in view of the growing business opportunities in the environmental health & safety field generated by the increasing concerns in the quality of air within public buildings and private homes. The zone was supported by the Hong Kong Indoor Air Quality Association and was well received by both exhibitors and visitors.

In 2008, Eco Expo Asia will continue with the IAQ zone, showcasing the latest IAQ products and services. Exhibitors of IAQ products or services will once again be grouped in the IAQ zone for easy identification. This specialised zone is perfect for property management companies; restaurants & hotels; schools & hospitals; commercial enterprises; and contractors & engineers. Come and see what there is to be offered to create a healthier indoor environment.

Bringing international experiences to Eco Expo Asia
Knowing what other countries are doing to address their environmental issues are crucial in improving Hong Kong’s own environmental management. Different environmental insights and experiences will allow Hong Kong to improve in raising awareness, developing regulatory framework, working on pilot projects in cities, helping to reduce greenhouse gasses and tackling urban pollution.

Earlier this year, a Swedish Environmental Seminar was held in Hong Kong and Beijing. The seminar in Hong Kong was organised by HKTDC, together with the Royal Sweden Hong Kong Society, the Consulate General of Sweden in Hong Kong and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks. As a follow-up after the successful Swedish Environmental Seminars, a Swedish Pavilion and a special Swedish Seminar are expected for Eco Expo Asia 2008. The official Swedish organiser is intended to be the Center for Environmental Technology (Centec), Swedish Embassy in Beijing.

Share environmental knowledge at Eco Asia Conference
Entering into its third year, Eco Asia Conference continues to be an important event featuring international and local environmental protection experts as key speakers. The Eco Asia Conference has established itself as a major environmental event that covers significant environmental topics. This year, the conference will mainly focus on areas namely Air Quality, Energy Efficiency, Waste & Recycling and Green Building, further augmenting the importance of the product groups of Eco Expo Asia.

“The conference was interesting with many significant topics and more importantly with knowledgeable speakers,” said one visitor, Ms. Jessica Bellas, Project Manager for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
